Revenge stories are not uncommon these days. People get cheated by companies and people and they set out to take revenge against them. But this incident takes the cake. Sanjay Joshi, a resident of Mumbai was recently fired from the popular insecticide brand Mortien due to a misunderstanding. “One day, I was working till late on an important pitch that was due the next day. While leaving, I bid ‘Good Night’ to my colleagues and my boss. To my shock, my boss thought that I am promoting a rival brand. I was instantly fired.” Monty the Mosquito that survived the massacre. This will force them to shut down all Mortien offices in the city.” Mortien’s Mumbai Head Moske Ito explains her side ou

A Hitchhiker's Guide to Catching an Autorickshaw in Mumbai

Image
I have travelled to many places in this city, mostly Hell (as continuously suggested by my friends, ex-girlfriends and random strangers) and I’ve realised that the most difficult part of travelling in this city is catching a Rickshaw. It’s particularly impossible to catch a rickshaw in South Bombay because the moment you enter South Bombay, you’re entitled to an even number of wheels in your mode of transport. Any vehicle that has an odd number of wheels could be simply classified as, ‘Chee. ’ So, for those who don’t have such an entitlement or are not rich enough, I’ve meticulously researched and come up with 7 ways you can easily catch an autorickshaw in this city: Source: Brian Feddern & Youtube 1.  Make him an offer he cannot refuse:  Offer him to pay 5x times the amount on the meter and watch him reject you nevertheless as it’s not a lamba bhada. 2.  Counter-argument:  As soon as he asks you, “Kahan jaana hai?” (Where do you want to go?) reply by asking him where HE want to

5 potholes in Mumbai that you MUST experience before you die! #3 will blow your car's suspension!

The monsoon season is here and with the much-awaited rains, Bombay is also eagerly looking forward to the potholes these rains cause. We have compiled a list of Bombay’s 5 best potholes and why you should check them out! They come in all shapes and sizes and we haven’t discriminated at all! 1. Nandini Source: Firstpost A mother of two little potholes, Nandini ensures that she takes time out of her daily 9-5 job to be there during the rush hour to get you late for office. When asked what makes her find the time to do this, she says, “I was brought into this world because of corporators who chose to use faulty material to build roads. The least I can do is give back to this city. Today, I cause traffic on a small bridge. Who knows maybe tomorrow my children will create traffic on the Sea Link?” 2. Subhash Source: DNA India Subhash isn’t originally from here. He came from a small town with big hopes and ambitions. He started off his journey by being a small pothole at an abandoned street

The Pregnancy Test

It’s quite early in the morning. The sun is barely up. The streets are empty. The only movement on the streets is newspaper boys arranging newspapers, an occasional person jogging and a vehicle that speeds through the empty road like a rocket. While the city sleeps, Prestige Medical Shop stays open 24/7. They do not have a lot of customers this early in the morning yet Mr. Praveen, the owner of the shop, ensures that they’re open to their customers at ‘any ungodly hour.’ That’s their slogan but it never really caught on with the people. The neighborhood only went there because it was the only medical shop in the area. But I like to go there often because I like Mr. Praveen. He’s a 70-year-old man who used to work in the bank. His children are abroad. He has spent his entire life’s savings on this shop, so it is all he has.  Interacting with all those customers is what keeps him going. I like to talk to him sometimes. He tells me about his grandchildren who have recently learnt to say

Wedding Day

It was the day I have always dreamt of, the day perhaps every girl dreams of. That’s right, her wedding day. I have been planning for this day since the past 3 months. Every single detail has approved by me, everything from the location to the kind of water that will be served at the wedding, it’s sparkling water, by the way. I remember the menu taking up most of my time because my fiancĂ© is a picky eater. I had to make some tough decisions but in the end it all worked out. I had the perfect wedding planned. My fiancĂ©e hadn’t contributed a lot and I honestly didn’t mind. However, one day, he told me, “Darling, you have planned everything for this wedding and I cannot be more grateful.” You should be! All you did was planning your own bachelor party. He continued, “I only ask of you for one thing that you let me choose the cake. A wedding cake symbolizes good fortune and a good life ahead and I want it to be the most memorable cake of our lives.” This is exactly why I’m marrying this
